The celebrations mark the 2-year period until the games and an important step in the preparation process – both cities now offer direct flights from their local airports. Both cities have unveiled flowerbeds in prominent places in their cities – Lviv’s in the city square, known as Freedom Square, and Donetsk’s in the Scherbakov Park. These match the three flower beds recently unveiled in co-host Poland’s cities on the same day. In addition to its own flowerbed, Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv unveiled its official logo for the Euro 2012 Matches.
