4 Tips for Meeting a Russian Bride's Parents

23. July 2010 by Michelle 0 Comments

Some Russian and Ukrainian women may be eager to introduce you to their parents on your very first trip, while others may postpone this important step until you get to know each other better. Either way, you can sail through this nerve wracking event smoothly by remembering this advice.

Find Out Facts First

Learn about their backgrounds, occupations, and even religious and political views from your Russian lady before the meeting. Find out if you share common interests or have traveled to the same places, so you can prepare conversation topics ahead of time.

Give Gifts

Once you know some things about her parents, you should have an idea of what to bring as a gift. Ask your Ukrainian girl for suggestions if you’re not sure. A bouquet of her mother’s favorite flower and a bottle of her father’s favorite beverage is nice, or perhaps some small souvenirs from your hometown. Also, don’t forget gifts for the younger siblings.

Dress for Success

You’ve hopefully packed some of your best outfits for your trip to visit your Russian bride and this is a good time to wear your finest. Be careful not to overdo it though. Remember, you can always ask your lady for suggestions. She will be delighted that you are so eager to look presentable for her parents.

Mind Your Russian Bride

Be attentive toward the parents, but also maintain focus on your lady and remember your gentlemanly gestures. Some guys are so concentrated on impressing the parents that they forget about their hot Russian bride! The parents will be observing how you treat their daughter and, after all, she’s the one you’re dating, not them.

With a helpful translator in tow and a supportive Russian woman by your side, you should have no problems meeting the parents. If things don’t go as well as you would have liked, don’t dwell on it. Parents often think that no man will ever be good enough for their daughter, but as long as you’re making her happy, they will be happy too.
