What does Christmas mean to you?
For me, Christmas is my most favorite holiday! Recounting the birth of Jesus Christ and finding God. These moments in history are very special to me. I also enjoy how everyone, even amongst strangers, express tenderness towards each other. Oh, how this holiday brings out good feelings, innocence and hope!
How are you celebrating Christmas this year?
On Christmas Eve I gather with my relatives - parents, grandparents for a modest fasting dinner. It is reminiscent of the most important events that took place in history. We save our appetites for the abundance of food that will be served on Christmas day!
What is your favorite Christmas time tradition?
On Christmas Day my family traditionally goes to church for evening services. When we return home, Dad rings the bell, marking the beginning of the celebration of Christmas.
What is your favorite holiday food? Do you do the cooking?
My favorite Christmas dish is “kutya” that I cook along with my grandmother and mother. This is a delicious family dish made with berries, honey and walnuts.
Do you have a special Christmas memory from your childhood?
For me I associate Christmas with banana cake. My grandmother bakes it every year and the house is filled with this wonderful just baked scent.
What do you want Santa Claus/Ded Moroz to bring you this year?
In the New Year I dream to have found my special man and to have our own family someday. Family is important to me and I can’t wait to build my own.
