Anna Kournikova Joins the Cast of “Biggest Loser”

Russian tennis beauty Anna Kournikova will join The Biggest Loser as a celebrity trainer, NBC announced on Wednesday. The 29-year-old Moscow native will replace Jillian Michaels who announced her departure last December.

"As a former professional tennis player and certified trainer, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to share my enthusiasm for staying fit across America's homes," Kournikova said in a statement.

Anna will join The Biggest Loser in September, though it won’t be her first time on the popular weight loss reality show. The hot Russian, who is now an American citizen, guest starred in an episode last October, where she led 15 contestants in a tennis challenge.

NBC reality show chief Paul Telegdy said the network was confident that Kournikova “will be a powerful motivator to contestants to get fit and healthy."

Anna began her tennis career at the age of eight, training at Nick Bollettieri's celebrated tennis academy in Bradenton, Florida. Kournikova made her Grand Slam debut at the age of 15 and went on to win two Grand Slam doubles titles with partner Martina Hingis. Though a back injury has kept Anna away from tennis for the last eight years, the Russian beauty is reportedly planning a comeback. Anna is also known for her model good looks and her relationship with Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias.
