Can I Use Cyrillic Characters In My Email?

In an attempt to better communicate with the ladies of HotRussianBrides.com, many gentlemen sprinkle Russian words or phrases in their emails or write an entire message in the ladies’ native language. While we admire, and encourage, members’ attempts to communicate in Russian, our system is not designed to handle Cyrillic characters.


Though Cyrillic characters may at times display with no problem, they often cause a variety of issues. For example, a Cyrillic message may be cut short, not display properly on the lady’s end, or the characters may appear as meaningless symbols. Gentlemen may also discover that they cannot type a full message. Why waste time and credits composing a message that may not display properly when HotRussianBrides’ translators can help you successfully communicate with a Russian lady? By all means, continue to study Russian, but save your skills for a face-to-face meeting.


If you wrote to a lady in Russian and she cannot view your email, chances are good that Cyrillic characters are to blame. Accent marks can also cause problems, as can the invalid characters generated by word processing programs. If your Russian email didn’t display properly, simply retype the message in English (it may help to type the message directly in the email field) then send your message again.
