Dazzling Airborne Delight: Svetlana Kapanina, the Russian Top Gun

19. October 2009 by James 0 Comments

Russian women never have limited their skills and achievements to the Earth. Russian Valentina Tereshkova was the first woman in space. Now in the 21st century a stunning, beautiful, blonde Russian woman, Svetlana Kapanina, dazzles us in the skies.

The Best of the Best

Sveltlana has been called the Best Pilot of the Century. In her career she has won 32 gold medals and is a six time world champion. She has won the title more times than any other pilot, male or female ever in the history. Her favorite plane is the one of the best acrobatic planes, the Russian-made SU-26 which is made for men. This means in order to fly it, Valentina has to prop herself up with quite a few pillows.

The Need for Speed

Known for her take no prisoners’ style of flying, this stunning blonde has excelled in a highly male dominated profession. Every member of Russia’s Aerobatic Flying Team experience tremendous G-Forces so intense that some military pilots who wanted to join the team could not hack it.

Down to Earth

This mother of two keeps her flying all in the family. Vladimir, her martial arts instructor husband, says that she flew as long as she could when she was pregnant. When she isn’t flying this high flying Russian hottie enjoys taking her children to the gymnastics school twice a week.

Not Typical

Today’s Russian woman is beyond stereotypes.  Russian women are some of the best educated women in the world. Surprising to most Westerners, many Russian women have a classical education and hold college degrees. Many have multiple degrees. You will find Russian ladies in variety of careers from writers, to chemists, to teachers and yes, daredevil pilots.

Here is some video of Sveltlana slipping the silvery skies.
