Do Russian Women Drink Vodka?

GeorgiaRule says life is meant is for two!

Stereotypes surround all groups of people, but Russians really seem to rack them up! Several of the most popular myths involve the country’s most popular spirit – vodka! While it’s untrue that everyone drinks vodka all day, the beverage certainly has a prominent place in Russian culture.

However, do Russian women enjoy vodka as much as their male counterparts?

First of all, most Russians drink vodka on three occasions: to celebrate a special event, such as a wedding, birthday, or holiday; to relax at the end of a hard day’s work; and to ward off an illness.

As for the ladies, they usually prefer an alcoholic alternative such as champagne or wine. Vodka is considered a rather manly drink.

Damskaya Vodka even tried to market new flavored varieties as “ladies’ liquor” to increase their female consumer count. “Women drink much less vodka than men, but now that they have a product especially for them, we hope that will change,” said Natalia Shumilina, the company’s marketing director.

Another reason Russian brides may not imbibe vodka very often is to preserve their perfect bodies! With empty calories and a high sugar content, alcohol can add on extra pounds fast. Health and fitness are important aspects of ladies’ lives, so many choose to avoid alcohol all together to stay trim.

Although vodka is seen as a masculine drink with unhealthy side effects, there will always be Russian girls who gulp shots regularly. Do you prefer to meet hot Russian brides who don’t drink? Or those who only drink occasionally? Use the Advanced Search options to find them right now!
