Don King Signs Boxer Andriy Kotelnik, Admires Ukrainian Women

Legendary boxing promoter Don King recently traveled to Lviv, Ukraine to sign WBA light welterweight champion Andriy Kotelnik (31-3, 13KOs) to a promotional contract. The first fight in the three-fight agreement will pit Kotelnik against WBC/IBF champion Devon Alexander (20-0, 13KOs) and is expected to air August 7 on HBO. King is also a promoter for Devon Alexander.


Mr. King enjoyed his visit to Ukraine, calling Kiev “a magnificent city” and complimenting the Ukrainian people for their hospitality. King was especially impressed with the country’s women. He told FightNews.com:


“The beauty of the Ukrainian women has especially amazed me. They are fine! Here again, I see all the beauties here. I’m proud that I will work with Ukrainian boxers and represent Ukraine on the world scene.”


Don King has represented some of the world’s most famous boxers, including Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, and Evander Holyfield, among others.
