Honor a Russian Nurse This Week

7. May 2012 by Dasha 0 Comments

Sunday, May 6th marked the start of Nurses Week, a seven-day period honoring the hardworking men and women who treat the sick and injured. Many of the women of HRB work as nurses, and many more aspire to enter this noble profession. Is your special lady one of them?

Nurses Week culminates on Friday, May 12, a day known as International Nurses Day. Founded by The International Council of Nurses (ICN) in 1965, Nurses Day educates the public about the challenges facing the nursing profession. The professional holiday also celebrates the contributions nurses have made to society. ICN chose May 12 for International Nurses Day as it is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

If you’d like to congratulate one of HRB’s hard-working nurses this week, consider sending a congratulatory email, a virtual e-card, or even a gift from our gift shop. It’s a great way to strike up a conversation and the ladies are sure to appreciate your warm and thoughtful gesture.
