Hot Russian Pole Vaulter, Yelena Isinbayeva, to Compete Again

Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, a two-time Olympic champion, will return to the sport after a ten-month absence. Isinbayeva, 28, decided to take a break from pole vaulting last year after she failed to clear the bar at the Berlin Worlds in 2009 and placed fourth at the world indoors in Qatar in 2010.

"I am motivated, fit and happy with my condition right now,” Isinbayeva said in a statement released by the IAAF. “My coach Vitaliy Petrov and I have worked extensively in accordance with a program to give me a solid foundation, so I'm very happy to return to competition and hope I enjoy it.”

On February 6, the beautiful and talented athlete will compete for the first time in nearly a year at the Russian winter tournament.

"I will start in Moscow, then in Donetsk, in the meeting of Sergey Bubka, and one or two tests before the European Indoor," she said.

Though Isinbayeva hopes to win every event in which she competes, the athlete’s main goal for the next two seasons will be to prepare for the London Olympics in the summer of 2012.

In addition to winning Olympic gold two times, Isinbayeva has also won five world titles and set a total of 27 world records. The Russian beauty credits her overall happiness and success to a positive attitude, a good diet, and love.
