Life in Ukraine is very different from life in Switzerland. Have you ever wondered exactly what some of the differences are? With data from online comparison site If It Were My Home and other sources, we put together some figures that show the differences between her country and yours:

 

  • She could earn 6.5 times as much money. Average income in Ukraine is just under CHF 6000 per year; it’s around CHF 39,000.
     
  • She would also be 8.33% more likely to be employed. Switzerland’s unemployment rates are slightly lower than those in Ukraine.
     
  • But, her healthcare would be more expensive. Average costs in Switzerland are about 10 times the rate in Ukraine.
     
  • She could live 12 and a half years longer. Life expectancy in Ukraine is about 68 years, while in Switzerland it is about 81 years.
     
  • She’d experience slightly wider class divide than in Ukraine.
     
  • Depending on where in the country you are, she could enjoy a climate that is similar to her own. Summers in Ukraine tend to be warm; winters are mild by the coast, but can be extremely chilly in central Ukraine.
