Impressive Potocki Palace in Downtown Lviv

24. September 2012 by Masha 0 Comments

When you're visiting Ukrainian girls in and around the city of Lviv, be sure to make time for a trip to Potocki Palace. Once inhabited by the powerful Potocki family of Poland, the imposing 19th-century building was recently restored and serves as a branch of the Lviv Art Gallery.

Inside the palace you'll find Renaissance and Baroque art throughout three impressive halls adorned with marble fireplaces, moldings, and ornate mirrors. Outside in the garden, there is a creative collection of miniature castles including reproductions of Lviv’s High Castle and the castles of the Golden Horseshoe.

Since it once served as a civil registry office, Potocki Palace is commonly known as a wedding palace and it’s still a popular venue today for weddings and special events. Last week, the palace welcomed thousands of writers, readers, poets, critics, and more for the 19th International Publishers' Forum.

Whether you're an art aficionado or a history buff, taking a stroll around Potocki Palace is a great date idea. Ask your favorite Lviv girls if they've taken a tour lately.
