It Doesn’t Take Gifts to Show Her That You Care

30. November 2009 by Christy 0 Comments

While ladies certainly appreciate a thoughtful gift, men don’t have to spend money to show their devotion. One way a gentleman can show his special Russian or Ukrainian lady that he cares is to express interest in her life and her culture. Learning about the holidays and traditions of Russia or the Ukraine is an excellent way to do both.

Holidays in Russia

There are many important holidays in Russia, some which are similar to popular Western holidays.

Public holidays in Russia include New Year’s (January 1-10th), Orthodox Christmas (January 7th), Defender of the Motherland Day (February 23rd), International Women’s Day (March 8th), Spring and Labor Day (May 1st), Victory Day (May 9th), Russia Day (June 12th), and Unity Day (November 4th). In addition, there are many popular, though not public, holidays like Tatiana Day, Valentine’s Day, and monthly name days.

Holidays in the Ukraine

Ukraine shares many of the same holidays as Russia, but there are a few exceptions.

Public holidays in the Ukraine include New Year’s Day (January 1st), Orthodox Christmas (January 7th), International Women’s Day (March 8th), Orthodox Easter, Holy Trinity Day, Labor Days (May 1st-2nd), Victory Day (May 9th), Constitution Day (June 28th), and Independence Day (August 24th). Like Russia (and all countries for that matter), Ukraine has many significant holidays that aren’t state holidays.

Show Her That You Care

To impress your Russian sweetheart, do a little research about each holiday and ask her how she celebrates these special days. She’ll surely appreciate your interest in her life and her culture. While you don’t have to buy a gift or send a card, a thoughtful holiday message will likely warm her heart. Be sure to share your own holiday traditions as well. It can be fun to compare traditions with your special Russian lady.

On significant dates, such as her birthday or her name day, send a thoughtful message to let her know you’re thinking about her. This will let her know she’s important to you and that you are thoughtful and kind. Women from all countries appreciate men who go the extra mile to show that they care.

Gifts are nice, but sincere, thoughtful gestures will often mean much more. If you’re looking for a way to demonstrate your devotion to a lovely Russian woman, make an effort to learn about her life and her culture.  You won’t be sorry you did.
