28. May 2013 by Masha 0 Comments

With Italian restaurants practically on every corner in Kyiv, it's obvious that Ukrainians are big fans of Italian food. They have a strong appreciation for the country's culture as well.

Thanks to the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine and the Italian Embassy in Kiev, the capital city will be saturated with the sights, sounds and smells of "Italian Days in Kiev" this weekend.

The event takes place this weekend because June 2nd is Republic Day in Italy, also known as Festa della Repubblica. The celebration in Kiev hopes to promote Italian brands, encourage Italian companies to expand to the Ukrainian market, and simply to share the country's culture.

On Saturday, art exhibitions will be on display with free viewing for the public. All proceeds from sales of the masterpieces will be donated to charity. Plus, tasting seminars will also take place with pasta, prosciutto, bread, wine, beer, and more. There will also be a concert with performances by various Italian artists.

On Sunday, Republic Day in Italy, a parade will pass along Khreschatyk Street featuring bikes and cars from famous Italian designers such as Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, and Ducati.
