Which kinds of music do you like? Jazz? Electronic? Heavy Metal? Rock? No matter which you choose, a summer vacation to Ukraine wouldn't be complete without a visit to one of the many music festivals. The weather is perfect for outdoor concerts and they are always filled with gorgeous dancing Ukrainian girls

June 1-3, Alfa Jazz, Lviv

August 2-4, Metal Heads Mission (heavy metal), Yevpatoria, Crimea

  • Lineup: Gorguts, Nile, Deranged, Cenotaph, Datura, Dead Shape Figures and others

  • The most popular heavy metal festival in Ukraine and one of the most prominent ones in the former Soviet countries, Metal Heads Mission is held at the entertainment base called Solnyshko, a diminutive childish name for "sun", just nine kilometers away from Yevpatoria. 

 

August 8-11, Kazantip (electronic), Popovka, Crimea

  • Kazantip Republic, or Republic Z, has become the biggest post-Soviet electronic music festival.
  • The festival’s symbol is a yellow retro-style suitcase. If you register your suitcase in advance, you will get free entrance to the festival grounds. 

August 29-September 2, Jazz Koktebel, Koktebel, Crimea

  • Located near Feodosiya in eastern Crimea, the small town of Koktebel has become the summer jazz capital of Ukraine.
