A lot of words in Russian are very similar to their English counterparts. For instance, "restaurant," Russian, is spelled "Ресторан" (rest-ah-ran). This week, learn the rest of the characters in the Cyrillic alphabet. It helps to go over the letters frequently. A few ways to help them stick in your brain:
- Make flashcards for yourself.
- Visit Russian-language websites. Before hitting your browser's "translate" button, try sounding out headlines in Russian.
- Practice writing the characters. Boring, but it's what helped you learn Latin letters (the characters used in English) as a kid!
