Miss Intercontinental 2009 Contestant: Miss Belarus Maria Yesman

22. September 2009 by Gregg 0 Comments

Maria Yesman follows in the footsteps of last year's Belarussian representative Lyubov Yakovina, by taking part in this year's Miss Intercontinental 2009 pageant. Maria has big shows to fill as Yakinova did enormously well in 2008, beating out scores of others to make it to Second Runner Up, just below pageant winner Cristina Carmago of Colombia and First Runner up Milena Lutrzykowska of Poland.

Maria faces stiff competition this year, and the pressure of representing her home country in a show taking place in that country. The pageant in scheduled to be held on September 27th in Belarus’s Capital City of Minsk.

Maria Yesman is a student of the law department of Belarusian State University. She has been described by commentators as being energetic and pleasant. At 20 years old, her pageant and modeling career is just beginning, but to be picked for an event like this so early could be an indicator of an exciting future to come.

The Miss Intercontinental pageant started off in 1971. It enters the list of the world’s top five beauty contests. The finals will be held under the auspices of the ONT TV Channel. Beauties will spend two weeks in Belarus. Photo sessions and rehearsals will follow a week of sightseeing.
