Miss Ukraine Among the Top 5 Finalists for Miss Universe 2010

The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas was bursting to the brim with beautiful women for the Miss Universe pageant last night. While Miss Russia was said to be a strong favorite, and did place among the top 15 ladies, it was Anna Poslavska who became the pride of Ukraine with her 3rd place finish.

The gorgeous girls from around the world competed in the swimsuit competition, followed by the evening gown segment. After the top 5 contestants were announced - Miss Mexico, Miss Australia, Miss Jamaica, Miss Ukraine, and Miss Philippines - the anxiety-inducing interview round was next.

Telecast judge Jane Seymour asked Miss Ukraine about full body scanners being used at airports and how she feels about going through a scanner than can actually see through her clothes. A Russian translator helped Anna explain that she feels it is a very important question of security and if the scanners help save people’s lives then she’s all for it.

Anna was honored to be the only European in the top 5. She was thrilled to be chosen as the 3rd runner-up to Mexico, which is the highest placement of any Miss Ukraine contestant in Miss Universe history. She plans on finishing her second degree at Kiev’s National Economic University and share the joy of her title with her family, which is the most important thing her in life.
