New Website for Kyiv Tourists

23. April 2012 by Masha 0 Comments

Ukraine's capital city continues to grow as a popular tourist destination and officials are striving to make it easier than ever for visitors to enjoy everything Kyiv has to offer. A new website was recently launched that includes a wealth of information about the city's history, accommodations, sights to see, restaurants, EURO 2012 info, and much more.

"Tourism is one of the main directions for the development of Kyiv," said first Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Mazurchak. "We drew up the whole program, which foresees the implementation of a range of events to promote Kyiv as a tourist capital. One of the main points of this is the creation and functioning of the tourist Web portal of Kyiv city, which should contain all of the necessary reference information, and provide current information about the city and its infrastructure."

The site includes a calendar of events so visitors can be sure to catch concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and other events. For those planning on visiting Ukraine this summer for EURO 2012, there is a page specifically for the football championship, including the history, the stadiums, and more.

Also, some of the city's most popular restaurants are detailed and mapped out to help tourists enjoy a wide range of cuisine. There is even a fast food directory for those McDonald's cravings -- there are 25 of the Golden Arches in Kyiv!
