Reading Between the Lines in Your Romantic Emails

20. September 2012 by Lorena 0 Comments

When you send messages back and forth with your Russian sweetheart, do you find that the rhythm and style of your messages is alike? This could be a powerful sign of a strong mutual connection. Quite a while ago, scientists discovered that, when speaking, we tend to mimic those who we feel close to. But more recently, they learned that love letters follow the same pattern.

The pattern even extends to love letters written by famous poets. Researchers studied the poems of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and her husband Robert Browning from before the couple’s famous romance, and those written after. They found a marked similarity in the lovers’ prose styles as their relationship progressed, especially in those notes written to one another.

By contrast, when researchers look at the poems and letters sent between married poets Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, the messages are similar during the years that the two were happiest, and starkly different from one another during the more tumultuous years of their relationship. The differences are even more dramatic when the levels of similarity are compared between the Plath/Hughes relationship and that of Barrett and Browning; even at their most compatible, Hughes and Plath never touched the similarity of the famously content Barrett-Brownings.

Romantic relationships on Russian Love Match are typically initiated and developed through email. These written messages are usually your first means of contact, and the best way to hold longer discussions when the two of you are on opposite sides of the world, and not always able to video chat with one another. You use written messages to tell your Russian love about yourself, and learn more about her. So, when you find that the letters that you write while courting a Russian lady start to have the same rhythm as the ones that she writes back to you, take it as a positive sign; it could mean that the two of you are heading toward a strong romantic connection.
