Respect Her Country and Her Culture

27. January 2010 by Christy 0 Comments

Russian and Ukrainian women are turned off by disrespectful men, especially men who disrespect a lady’s country or culture. Therefore, it’s important for members to behave like gentlemen at all times. Here are a few tips to help men avoid offending the lovely ladies of HotRussianBrides.com.

Be Respectful at All Times

A gentleman should never criticize or make fun of a lady’s country or culture. Even if a lady agrees with your critiques or thinks your jokes are funny, she may not appreciate hearing them from a foreigner. Show respect at all times and refrain from saying anything negative about a woman’s country, at least until you know the lady very well and are sure she won't be offended (and even then you will want to tread carefully). You never want to make a lady feel like her nationality is second class or that her country is inferior to your own.

Don’t Be Ignorant

There are many inaccurate stereotypes about Russia and the Ukraine. Don’t fall for them. Assuming that all Russians love vodka, that all Ukrainian and Russian women are dying to marry Western men, or that all Russians are Communists will only make you look foolish. Treat each lady like an individual and don’t make any assumptions based upon her nationality.

If you want to impress a Russian or Ukrainian woman, educate yourself about her country of origin. Look at a map, learn basic geography, brush up on major historical events. It also helps to learn basic phrases in her language. Your lady will appreciate your efforts and will be flattered that you want to learn more about her. Plus, a little extra knowledge never hurt anyone.

Don’t Belittle Her English Skills

Never make fun of a lady’s English skills or criticize her when she makes a mistake. Even if you are only teasing, it will still seem very rude. This is especially true if you cannot speak Russian or Ukrainian yourself. Learning another language is never easy and being laughed at by native speakers only makes the process more difficult. Be patient with your Russian or Ukrainian lady and encourage her attempts to speak English.

While it may seem obvious, gentlemen should avoid teasing Russian or Ukrainian woman about their home countries and criticizing the nations' people and customs. Making fun of a lady’s English skills, even in jest, is also something to avoid. Respectful gentlemen who make an effort to learn about a lady’s country and those who avoid negative commentary or jokes will be more successful on HotRussianBrides.com than those who do not.
