Russian Bride’s Awesome Flash Mob Reception

17. October 2012 by Lorena 0 Comments

This lovely Russian redhead got a surprise for her wedding reception: an intricately choreographed flash mob dance number to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” performed on Sparrow Hill in Moscow. The song choice was particularly apt, as the song’s composer, Irving Berlin, was born in Russia.

The action begins as many flash mobs do, with a lone gentlemen placing a boombox on the ground and hitting play. He starts dancing, and is gradually joined by more dancers, until most of the people in the square are in on the act.

The bridal party arrives by limousine about a third of the way through the act. The lucky couple looks surprised but happy. They are quickly pulled into the crowd, where they join the dance and drink champagne.

Theories on the origin of the flash mob abound online. Some people believe that it was a subtle pro-Putin election stunt (Putin/Puttin’, get it?). Others say it’s an anti-Putin protest. Still others say that it was a wedding gift to the bride and groom. No matter what the cause, the result looks like fabulous fun.
