Russian Dating Is Not a Shortcut to Love

13. August 2010 by Christy 0 Comments

Unfortunately, some men are attracted to Russian dating because they mistakenly believe it is a shortcut to love and marriage and that the basic rules of courtship do not apply. These beliefs often come about because of the Russian women stereotypes that are still so prevalent in the industry, namely the myths that Russian women are dying to leave their country and will marry any foreigner who asks, that they can be purchased (if not directly than through a site’s membership fees), or that they despise Russian men and are dazzled by the attention of (any) foreigners.

Russian Dating Mistakes

So how do (some) Russian bride seekers break the basic rules of courtship? By seriously proposing marriage in the first email or two, feeling entitled to dominate a woman’s time and attention because they pay membership fees and the ladies do not, treating Russian women as if they are dishonest scammers who have to “prove” otherwise, and booking trips to meet a lady without even consulting her, just to name a few. Though some of these examples may seem extreme, they happen every day on HotRussianBrides.com. These gentlemen would more than likely NEVER try these techniques with women from their own country so why do they think Russian women are any different?

While courting a Russian woman is in some ways vastly different than courting a woman from your own country (language barriers, cultural differences, distance, etc.), the core basics are the same. Men must still make an effort to be charming and polite if they want to attract a potential mate, they must still treat women with respect, they must still get to know a potential partner before proposing marriage or exclusivity, and they must still consider a lady’s thoughts and feelings. Though it would be nice, there is no shortcut when it comes to love.
