When you are courting a Ukrainian woman, you want to learn as much as you can about her and her culture. One of the best resources for familiarizing yourself with her language and current events in her country is SBS’s Ukrainian programming.

SBS has long provided foreign language programming to Australia’s non-English-speaking populations. The radio station offers three Ukrainian programs each week. On Tuesday afternoons, you can catch the Ukrainian show on broadcast radio. On Thursdays and Sundays, they have a digital broadcast. Tuesdays’ shows include reports from Ukrainian communities throughout Australia. Sunday helps you learn more about Ukrainian culture and traditions. SBS has three stations which can be heard in different parts of the country on FM radio, satellite or online.

All of the Ukrainian shows can be listened to from the SBS website. To make sure you never miss one, you can also subscribe to their podcast. This is great for those just learning Ukrainian, as you can repeat the shows to catch more of what is being said. There are also audio highlights available on the site, so you can jump directly to the stories that interest you. Recent topics covered by SBS’s Ukrainian show include education reform, Ukraine’s parliament and Ukraine’s new defamation law.

The Ukrainian show and the site that supports it also often reports Ukrainian cultural events throughout Australia. The radio shows are a great resource for helping your bride feel connected to her fellow Ukrainian immigrants when she comes to join you in Australia.
