Secretary Hillary Clinton to visit Ukraine for the 4th of July

10. June 2010 by Gregg 0 Comments

The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced plans to visit Ukraine this year, following in the diplomatic footsteps of Vice President Joe Biden who made a trip there in July of 2009 and perhaps paving the way for a Presidential visit in the near future.

Secretary Clinton will be meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and President Viktor Yanukovych while there. The White House has made their interest in Ukraine’s new President very clear as early as April’s Nuclear Summit which President Yanukovych attended in Washington and President Obama recently congratulated his Ukrainian counterpart for beginning the process of getting rid of their stocks of enriched Uranium.

Vice President Biden made international headlines when he noted publicly that Ukraine has “most beautiful women in the world” during his visit last year.
