The World Snow Forum is a unique event dedicated to creating comfortable conditions for livable winter cities in northern regions of the world. This year's forum was hosted by the Siberian city of Novosibirsk just last week and among the discussions and activities, the Miss Snow Universe competition was held.

100 of the most beautiful Russian women from 30 northern cities competed in the beauty pageant, including participants from almost all of the Siberian cities: Surgut, Yakutsk, Yekaterinburg, Tobolsk, Kazan and Ufa (Bashkiria).

Only 20 women made it to the final round, yet it was Vladislava Verner, a first year student at Tomsk State University, who won the crown. She will represent Russia at the Miss Tourism International beauty pageant this summer. She'll also get to enjoy a photo shoot in the Bahamas.

The first round of the contest had the ladies wearing snow white sparkling dresses while talking about themselves and explaining why they love winter. However, it was the second round that really showed who Miss Snow should be. The girls had to wear bikinis while posing for pictures outside in -20°C (-4°F)!

They were surrounded by spectacular snow sculptures from the World Snow Sculpture Competition that were devoted to the 2014 Winter Olympics.
