Snoop Dogg plays in Moscow

27. August 2009 by Gregg 0 Comments

Snoop Dogg, the internationally famous American hip hop star, played Moscow, Russia’s famous B1 Maximum Club yesterday. While Moscow’s club scene is mostly based around trance and house music, Russia does have a fair amount of people who are big fans of American hip hop. This show was significant as the Russian hip hop fans do not have much choice in terms of nightlife and to see an icon of the genre like Snoop Dog in their city is an exciting event.

The B1 Maximum Club was founded in 2006 in a machining plant workshop and has grown into one of the biggest clubs in the city due to its capacity (3000 people with a dance floor that has space for 2800) and its high-quality sound system. The club has housed concerts for many legendary acts including Iggy Pop, Morrissey, Chuck Berry, Brian Ferry, Nick Cave, Sinead O’Conner and Paul Anka.

Snoop Dogg will be followed up on Thursday by British singer and former front man for bands such as The Libertines and Babyshambles, Pete Doherty.
