The Marble Cave, also known as Marmurova Pechera, is one of the seven natural wonders of Ukraine

Located at a plateau of the Chatyr-Dag Mountain Range, Marble Cave has been open to tourists since 1987 and is now the second most visited cave in Europe. The cave is composed of many corridors, with the deepest running to approximately sixty meters (197 feet). However, only a small portion of Marble Cave is open to visitors. Even speleologists can't see all of Marble Cave as the cavern hasn’t been fully explored. No one is quite sure what lies beyond the cave’s mapped regions.

Many experts claim Marble Cave is one of the five most scenic caves in the world (open to tourists). Why? The cave’s fantastically shaped stalactites and stalagmites inspire the imagination and many visitors believe the cave’s formations resemble mammoths, dragon heads, fairies, and many other objects of fancy. See for yourself in the pictures below.

If you are in the area, be sure to check out this awe-inspiring natural wonder of Ukraine (ranked #4 of seven). Click to see the location of Marble Cave on Google Maps. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.
