If you bring your Russian bride to live with you in Sydney, Australia, she’ll have access to many resources to help her settle in. Sydney is host to many Russians expatriates. The Bondi Beach area in particular is a popular destination for Russian tourists, and boasts many restaurants and attractions that cater to that group.

A few resources to check out with your Russian honey to help her adjust and feel more at home:

  • The website The Russian Connection provides information about cultural events, concerts and meet-ups for Russian expatriates. This site allows her to see at a glance what’s going on nearby.
  • The Australian Russian Theater (A.R.T.) has put on productions of Russian plays in Sydney for eight years. The theater group meets weekly just outside Sydney at the Russian Club at Strathfield.
  • The Eastern Russian Suburbs School is a great resource for couples who wish to raise their children with a strong sense of their Russian heritage. The school offers Russian language lessons, Russian history, and important aspects of Russian culture, including music and dance.
  • Looking to learn a bit more Russian yourself? Check out Adult Language School's Free Language Exchange. The social group meets on the first Thursday of each month at The Shark Hotel on Liverpool Street.
  • The Sydney Russian-English Meet-Up group gives your Russian bride a chance to improve her English while you work on her native tongue.
  • The Russian Club of Sydney is a great place for you and your bride to relax and connect with her history. The club has a restaurant that offers great Russian food at reasonable prices. They put on social events on a regular basis.
  • Looking for something a little wilder? Club Russia offers regular disco nights for you and your bride.
