The 14th European Football Championship is inching closer now that 2012 is here. The tournament kicks off in Warsaw, Poland on June 8th and will culminate with the final match on July 1st in Kyiv, Ukraine. Other host cites include Poznan, Gdansk, and Wroclaw in Poland and Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Lviv in Ukraine.
As promotions start ramping up, a series of commemorative coins have been issued by The National Bank of Ukraine to celebrate the event. Made in gold, silver, and nickel silver, the 12 coins are officially licensed products for UEFA EURO 2012 and feature the official designs.
There is one gold coin with a face value of 500 hryvnia, one nickel silver coin worth five hryvnia, and 10 silver coins worth 20 hryvnia dedicated to each of the four Ukrainian host cities. All of the coins feature a holographic image of the official logo made using color enamels.
