Ukrainian cities Lviv and Donetsk have recently concluded their celebrations and ceremonies dedicated to the UEFA Euro 2012 football games that Ukraine and Poland will be co-hosting. The celebrations mark the 2-year period until the games and an important step in the preparation process – both cities now offer direct flights from their local airports.

Both cities have unveiled flowerbeds in prominent places in their cities – Lviv’s in the city square, known as Freedom Square, and Donetsk’s in the Scherbakov Park. These match the three flower beds recently unveiled in co-host Poland’s cities on the same day.

In addition to its own flowerbed, Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv unveiled its official logo for the Euro 2012 Matches. The logo depicts the four mythical founders of the city - Kyi, Schek and Khoryv and Lybid and was based on a famous monument in the city depicting them. Borys Kolesnikov, Deputy Prime Minister of the country attended the ceremony.
