Virginia is for Russian Brides

They say Virginia is for lovers, but is it also for Russian brides? Here are a few tips and resources for men living in Old Dominion.

Study Her Language

It doesn’t matter if you’re just getting to know a lady or are halfway to the altar, learning her language is always a good idea. Not only will learning Russian help you better communicate with your significant other, but she’ll also be excited and thankful you care enough to learn her native tongue. Here are a few schools in Virginia offering Russian language lessons.

Listen & Learn USA offers lessons in Virginia Beach every day of the week and can meet students at their homes, schools, or place of business.

Located in Falls Church, Virginia, Russian Academy offers classes for children and adults covering a variety of topics, including literature, art, math, theater, and more. The Academy even offers a summer camp for children ages 3 – 16.

The University of Virginia’s Summer Language Institute offers eight-week courses in a variety of languages, including Russian.

You might also find Russian language help with like-minded people in your area. Check out meetup.com to search for local groups.

Visit Russian Restaurants, Social Clubs

Even if you haven’t met a special Russian lady online, Slavic restaurants and social clubs are great places to learn more about Russian and Ukrainian culture. If you're already married to a Russian woman, she might enjoy meeting men and women from home. Here are a few places to check out.

  • Russia House Restaurant - A Herndon restaurant offering “one of a kind cuisine, exceptional service, in a warm and elegant atmosphere.”
  • Serbian Crown – A restaurant in Great Falls known for its outstanding Russian and French specialties.
  • Café Assorti – A fast-casual restaurant featuring homemade food from European, Russian, and Kazakh cuisines. Located in Arlington.
