Visit the Saratov Glass Museum

If you’re ever in Saratov, you may want to consider paying a visit to one of the most popular attractions in the area: the Saratov Glass Museum.

Belonging to the United Glass Enterprises of Saratov, the museum is composed of five major exhibits: the History Room, the Gallery of Honorable Visitors, the Assortment Room, the Exclusive Room, and the Room of New Technologies. What began as a small exhibit in the Assortment Room, quickly grew to a well-known museum with over 5,000 works on display.

The History Room, full of hundreds of compelling photos, shares the history of the company, while the Gallery of Honorable Visitors is a tribute to the many notable figures that have visited the museum. Foreign diplomats, astronauts, athletes, and clergies have all come to view the musuem’s fine pieces.

The Assortment Room contains a wide array of beautiful vases, wine flutes, globes, and other company products. However, it is the Exclusive Room that houses the most exquisite works. The handmade pieces found here represent different artistic styles, from classic to avant garde, and are replicas of works presented to famous people throughout history.

Last, but not least, is the Room of New Technologies, a room dedicated to using the latest technologies to create unique and beautiful glass objects. Sculptures, laser-engraved glass, transparent floors, and a glass bridge are just a few of the interesting objects on display.

The Saratov Glass Museum attracts thousands of visitors each year and is a unique way to spend the afternoon, either by yourself or with a beautiful Saratov girl on your arm.
