What are cookies and how are they used on HotRussianBrides.com?

In computing, a cookie is a small piece of data stored on a user's hard drive by a browser. A cookie normally consists of information such as user preferences, shopping cart contents, or other data used by websites. If you ever wonder how a website remembers who you are when you come back repeatedly, or how your favorite online retailer keeps those books you were looking at in your “shopping cart” until you remove them or buy them, it’s because a cookie tells your browser to remember all of this.

HotRussianBrides.com® uses cookies as a method of remembering your information and your preferences on the site. It also allows you to keep your Gift Shop shopping carts open until you are satisfied and wish to purchase the item you have placed in them. Cookies are safe, they can’t erase or read information on your hard drive and they can’t transmit viruses or allow hackers into your computer.

Cookies and Temporary Files can be the source of some headaches for users. Sometimes you may come across an error when logging in. The error will usually state “The credentials you provided are invalid-3” or “The credentials you provided are invalid-4” and will not allow you to access the site even though your Username and Password are correct. This issue is easily fixed by following these simple steps:

1) Go to the top of your internet browser and click on the option called “tools”.

2) Select “Internet Options” from the drop down menu.

3) The first page of the window that appears will be titled “General”.  Scroll down to “delete cookies” and “delete files”.  Make sure that you click on both of these options.

4) Click on the “Settings” tab next to the other buttons.

5) Underneath the title “Check for newer version of stored pages” make sure that the option “every visit to the page” is highlighted.

6) Click “Ok”.

7) Go back to the top of the window and click on the 3rd tab to the left titled “privacy”.

8) Once in the Privacy menu, you will be presented with three buttons, one of which is “advanced”, click this.

9) Ensure that “Always allow session cookies” is highlighted, as well as “allow 3rd party cookies”.
