Wish Russian Women a Happy Old New Year

14. January 2013 by Masha 0 Comments

The holiday season is finally winding down for Russian brides as the Old New Year signifies the end of their long vacation. While most have already ushered in 2013 on December 31st/January 1st with feasts, fireworks, and champagne, they will celebrate the Old New Year on January 13th/14th as well.

The second celebration is a little less festive as it's considered more of a nostalgic family holiday. Polls suggest that more than half of Russians observe the Old New Year in some way.

However, it's not an officially recognized holiday so employees are not given the day off for observance or celebration.

Be sure to wish your favorite Russian girls a Happy Old New Year and find out how they will be honoring the occasion.
