Wish Russian Mothers a Happy Mother's Day!

24. November 2010 by Christy 0 Comments

Sunday, November 28th is Mother’s Day in Russia. As in many other nations, Russia’s Mother’s Day is a day to honor the nation’s mothers and give thanks for the love, guidance, and support provided by maternal figures.

President Boris Yeltsin made Mother’s Day an official holiday on January 30, 1988 and Russians now celebrate the day on the last Sunday in November. As in Western countries, it’s customary for children to present their mothers with flowers, candy, or other small gifts, and husbands, too, honor their wives with presents or a special dinner. Mother’s Day is similar to International’s Women’s Day, celebrated in Russia and the Ukraine on March 8, except Mother’s Day focuses specifically on mothers, rather than women in general.

There are many Russian mothers on HotRussianBrides.com. Why not log on and wish one of the lovely ladies a Happy Mother’s Day! Ukraine does not celebrate Mother’s Day on November 28th, though Ukrainian mothers probably wouldn’t mind if you wished them a happy day as well. Here are some links to the profiles of Russian and Ukrainian mothers.
