Why Are You Called Hot Russian Brides if Most of the Women are From Ukraine?

19. January 2012 by Dasha 0 Comments

At the time of this post, 217 Russian women are looking for love on HotRussianBrides.com. Compare that to the 9,438 Ukrainian women who are searching for their second half and it’s easy to see why some might think our domain name is misleading.

It wasn’t always this way. Hot Russian Brides (HRB) once had more Russian women than Ukrainian women. However, as the years passed we began to work with more and more Ukrainian introduction agencies, thus acquiring more Ukrainian members. Ukraine also became more popular among men seeking foreign brides (probably because most Westerners can visit without a visa) so it wasn’t long before the number of HRB’s Ukrainian members exceeded the number of its Russian members.

It’s also important to note that the phrases “Russian women” and “Russian dating” don’t just refer to Russia. In the international dating community, “Russian woman” often means any woman in the Former Soviet Union (FSU), even if she has little to no ties to Russia, while “Russian dating” refers to the act of seeking and courting women from that area. When you read about “Russian women” on this blog, we usually mean women from Ukraine but could also be referring to women from Russia, Moldova, Belarus, Latvia, or other regions in the FSU.

Don’t get hung up by the term “Hot Russian Brides.” Though most of our ladies are from Ukraine, gentlemen can meet women from across Eastern Europe. Sign up today to meet your own Russian woman, wherever she may be from.
