5 Well-Known Celebrities and Their Russian Sweethearts

30. September 2009 by Christy 0 Comments

As many Americans are aware, Russians are a hot commodity.  Not only the women, but the men as well. Here are five examples of well-known celebrities and their hot Russian lovers.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio and Anne Vyalitsyna

Could Leonardo DiCaprio be dating another sexy model? Though unconfirmed, rumors abound about DiCaprio’s romantic involvement with hot Russian model Anne Vyalitsyna. The two allegedly met in July while DiCaprio was in London filming his movie “Inception,” and sources say the two have been hot and heavy ever since. After several sightings of the duo visiting various restaurants and nightclubs together one can only speculate on the true nature of their relationship. For now, neither party is talking. Twenty-three-year-old Anne Vyalitsyna, also known as Anne V, is a 5’10” beauty best known for her consecutive 5-year run in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She has also appeared on the covers of Vogue, ELLE, Glamour, and Gloss.

2. Naomi Campbell and Vladislav Doronin

Speaking of models, thirty-eight-year-old supermodel Naomi Campbell and Russian boyfriend Vladislav Doronin are rumored to be planning a wedding, though neither has publicly confirmed a date. Campbell and Doronin met at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2008 and the two have been inseparable ever since. The couple frequently vacation on Doronin’s yacht off St. Tropez in the South of France, and Campbell has even moved to Moscow to be closer to her Russian lover. While Campbell has reportedly met Doronin’s parents, we’ll just have to wait and see if those wedding rumors are true. Vladislav Doronin, known as Moscow’s Donald Trump, is a Russian billionaire property tycoon. The 46-year-old Doronin was recently named the 221st richest person in Russia by a Moscow-based magazine.

3. Cheech Marin and Natasha Rubin

After a four and a half year courtship, Cheech Marin of Cheech and Chong married his girlfriend, Russian-born classical pianist Natasha Rubin, on August 8, 2009. Seventy-five guests attended the sunset ceremony at the couple’s Malibu, California home, and People.com reports that Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa married the two lovebirds. Rubin’s 13-year-old son Max played with his band for the wedding. Natasha Rubin was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and began studying piano at the age of six. She has performed extensively in Russia and in the United States and has also been featured on radio and TV.

4. Candace Cameron and Valeri Bure

“Full-House” star Dave Coulier introduced co-star Candace Cameron to NHL hockey player Valeri Bure in 1995 and the two have been a blissful couple ever since. Cameron and Bure married the following year, and Bure was so happy about the nuptials that he sent Coulier an autographed hockey stick with a message thanking him for Candace. The two stars have three children: Natasha, Lev, and Maksim. The Bure couple keeps busy raising a family, visiting churches, and promoting their own Napa Valley wine: “BURE Family Wines.” Valeri Bure is a retired professional ice hockey right winger from Russia. He played ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), and he and older brother Pavel Bure (also a retired NHL player) won a bronze medal with Russia in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and a silver medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

5. Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova

Are wedding bells imminent for Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova? The two recently spent forty minutes at the Cartier Champs-Elysees boutique in Paris, but despite heavy scrutiny it’s unclear whether the couple purchased a ring. Iglesias, 34, and Kournikova, 28, have been dating for nearly eight years and have often inspired rumors about the status of their relationship. The pair was thought to have wed in secret in 2004 after Anna was spotted with a wedding band on her finger. However, the stories proved false. In 2007, Iglesias told a Swedish newspaper he was single, but later claimed the comments were a joke. No one can be sure if this couple will ever wed. Russia-born Anna Kournikova began playing tennis as a child and moved to Florida at an early age to attend Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy. Her tennis skills and stunning looks quickly earned her recognition both on and off the court. However, a series of back injuries forced her to give up her athletic career in 2003. Since then, Kournikova has ventured into modeling and has appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition, Maxim, FHM, and others.
