Baltika Beer

How about a cold Russian brew to go along with your hot Russian bride? Baltika has been the leader in the Russian beer market since the first brewery opened in 1990. In its short 20 year history, the brand has received over 500 awards of various calibers, including prizes from well-known international competitions such as the Brewing Industry International Awards, the World Beer Awards, the International Beer Challenge, the European Beer Star Awards, and the World Beer Cup.

The main Baltika Brewery in St. Petersburg is the second-largest brewery in Europe, after Heineken. Continual growth and success over the years have allowed for the construction of additional breweries in 10 other Russian cities: Yaroslavl, Tula, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk and Novosibirsk. All provide free tours which include highlights of the company history, details about the production technology, and of course, beer tasting.

One feature of Baltika beers that makes the brand so popular is the different varieties, all named by number, to appeal to all preferences of beer consumers. The first one produced, Baltika Number 3 Classic, still remains the most popular among Russian drinkers.
