Five Reasons to Travel to Ukraine Now

Bikini-clad beautyUkraine remains a mostly undiscovered tourist destination. But, some travel experts believe that that won’t be true for long, as more and more travelers discover the beauty and charm of Ukraine. Need a reason to go (besides the beautiful Ukrainian ladies)? Here are five:

It’s still cheap to visit.

Ukraine’s currency value is relatively low compared to that of many other countries, so, you get much more of a bang for your buck. Many midrange hotels have inexpensive rates – for instance, Odessa’s historic Hotel Passage has rooms for between $30 and $100 a night. Transportation is inexpensive, too, with buses and trams costing as little as 20 cents and cabs as low as $5 a trip.

New infrastructure means a more comfortable trip.

In the months heading up to last year’s EURO 2012 football championship, Ukraine built stadiums, improved roads, railways and airports and added many luxury hotels.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Ukraine is home to five World Heritage Sites, which are sites that have been recognized as having special cultural significance. Take in the beauty of the Saint-Sophia Cathedral and Kyiv’s Monastery of the Caves, or marvel at the sophistication of the scientists who accurately calculated the size of the Earth using the Struve Geodetic Arc.

White sand beaches.

Located on the shores of the Black Sea, Odessa offers access to beautiful white sand beaches for a fraction of what you’d spend in many other countries. At night, enjoy Odessa’s cafes and nightclubs, as well!

Enticing culture.

Ukraine is a country where people consider history and preserving traditions incredibly important. Visit museums in Kyiv or attend cultural festivals in Lviv to absorb some of the rich past of this fascinating country.
