New 5 Star Hotels Coming Soon to Kyiv

15. February 2012 by Masha 0 Comments

If you were traveling to Ukraine's capital city 10 years ago to visit Kyiv girls, you wouldn't have been able to find a single 5 star hotel. In recent years, four luxury hotels have been built: the InterContinental, Hyatt Regency, Premier Palace, and the Opera Hotel.

However, with the upcoming EURO 2012 football championship this summer co-hosted by Ukraine and Poland, the demand for more 5 star hotels is being met.

The first one to open and accomodate football fans will be the Fairmont Grand Hotel, located on the banks of the Dnipro River in the Podil district. With 258 rooms and 35 luxury suites, the Fairmont will also have a spa, a restaurant, a bar, and two lounges. It's now accepting reservations for arrivals as early as March 14th.

Swissotel Krasnye Holmy in Moscow is known for winning World Travel Awards and now the brand will be expanding to Ukraine. Swissotel Kyiv will become the largest 5 star hotel in the city with over 500 rooms and the tallest skyscraper with 34 and 47 story towers that stretch up 165 and 210 meters (541ft. and 689ft.) Located on Peremohy Prospekt, the hotel is currently being constructed with hopes of completion later this year.

The famous Hilton family will finally foray into Kyiv as a Hilton Hotel is expected to open in September. With 257 rooms, the Hilton will appear across from the Old Botanic Garden on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.

Lastly, the most recent luxury hotel development to be announced is Sofitel, located in the heart of Kyiv on Lyuteranska Street. With 278 rooms, two restaurants, a bar, spa, and fitness center, the hotel won't be ready for guests until 2014.
