Romantic Russian Bride Date: Peyzazhna Alley

31. January 2012 by Masha 0 Comments

In the historical part of Kyiv, the famous Peyzazhna Alley is a symbol of the struggle between local residents and property owners. Also known as Landscape Park, the area was slated to be under construction to make room for a large block of apartments two years ago. Residents were enraged and banded together to save their park.

Volodymyr Kolinko, one of the initiators of the creation of the park said:

"This park is our gift to the Kyivans, to their children. We greet those who have stood their ground and prevented the abuse of power from taking place, those who have money and use it for the public benefit, those who do not have money but have the good conscience and are willing to work for the good of the city community."

Starting from the National History Museum, the alley allows for fantastic sights of Podil, Andryivski Church, Richard's Castle and the left bank. This is also one of the best places in Kyiv to enjoy sunsets, art festivals, and unusual performances.

The organizers claim that this is only the first step on the way to incorporating contemporary art into the city space. There are creative benches to rest upon, beautiful arches to walk under, and couples can feel like kids again riding the seesaw.
