Ukrainian Women Receive Makeovers for Euro 2012

8. March 2012 by Dasha 0 Comments

Euro 2012 is just a few months away, and Ukraine is preparing for the big event by sprucing up its roads, its stadiums, and its women. Female border guards at Borispol Airport, near Kiev, received professional makeovers earlier this week as part of Ukraine’s efforts to impress Euro 2012 visitors.

"The experts are not only giving a present to all our girls before the 8th of March, but they are showing them how to look nice every day,” Maryana Markovich, the airport's border guard press officer, said in a statement. “So every traveler who comes to the Borispol Airport will see a beautiful Ukrainian border guard, and they will remember only the best about Ukraine.”

The female guards were pampered by professional makeup artists and hairstylists who worked hard to make the women look and feel good. According to stylist Andrei Yudin, the makeovers aren’t about fixing up ugly women, but about helping the ladies look their absolute best.

“Even without any make-up they look astonishing,” he said. “I just do it for the sake of touching a beautiful face one more time.”

Male guards did not receive makeovers.

Co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, Euro 2012 will kick off June 8, 2012 and end on July 1. Lviv, Kharkiv, and Donetsk will host tournament games while Kiev will host the final.
