Your Moldovan Movie Experience Is About to Get Better

5. October 2012 by Lorena 0 Comments

Hate the string of advertisements that come before a movie starts? So do the folks in the Moldovan Parliament. A bill that will ban pre and post movie advertisements is making its way toward law. The bill was passed during its first reading and approved by the government. It requires one more reading before becoming law. Theater owners who violate the ban will be fined the equivalent of $80 and up to $480 for repeat offenders.

The bill’s sponsors say that the new law was proposed at the request of the country’s youth. Critics argue that this will force movie theaters to increase ticket prices. So, if the bill passes, you’ll likely pay a bit more when you take your Moldovan lady on a dinner and a movie date, but, you’ll be spared sitting through ads before your film.
